Memnok’s music evokes dark spirits and black energies. His name is Jeremy Brown, a native of Grand Rapids Michigan not too far from Detroit, and his music speaks this reality. Despite the renowned bleakness of this area of the world, Memnok masters the ability to channel his creative energy, yielding a product that is sinister, moody, and punk-drunk tough while retaining a level of stripped-to-the-bone dark funk rarely heard amongst a myriad of techno and minimal producers today.

Zero Tone is a collaborative project between producers primarily centered in the Pacific Northwest of North America. Known by no other name and shunning the ego trappings of self-identification, Zero Tone's creative genius is focused on the product and not the face behind the product. Solstice Realignments is a digital release featuring remixes of the tracks featured on the Solstice EP. Bryan Zentz reworks m.0's "Supermental" into high-octane funk infused techno. Aaron Nesbit's creepy rendition of Let's Go Outside's already disturbed "A Room Without Doors", yields a chunked-up funk/tech house number. The winner of From 0-1's remix contest for Sone's "Recovery Mode", The Automatic Message, lands one of the biggest submarine bass drops known to man after a grating, industrial-edged intro leading into one hell of a deep number. Kynd shatters Jerry Abstract's "Glass Chatter", and turns it into a swift maelstrom of opposites, combining grating industrial-style machine noise with future forward pads and textures. Justin Byrnes treats Milkplant's moody "Wide Jaw" with some sunshine and flips a 180, revealing a super smooth deep house infused hit, perfect for summer.

From 0-1 presents: "The Black White Vol. 02" a follow-up compilation to Vol. 01 released in September 2008. The Black White Vol. 02 is an expose of talented producers predominantly located in the Pacific Northwest. Drawing from a strong burgeoning talent pool, From 0-1 flexes some serious techno muscle with tracks from Let's Go Outside, Milkplant, Sone, Nerd Revolt, Revy, The Automatic Message, and others. Sculpted as one might craft a DJ set, The Black White Vol. 02 builds, culminates, and breaks in the style of a sweaty techno dance floor; starting deep, getting mental, blowing up, then simmering down. From 0-1's motto- "the space between" is clearly evident in the effort to offer up a collection of tracks one might very well be able to play in a DJ set with fluidity, while simultaneously recognizing the need to exhibit an artistically and thoughtfully prepared album of quality music from connected producers in the US, Canada, and Europe.
